There is no question that inflammation plays a huge role in disease and it is evident that there are a number of healthy and natural approaches which can help in the prevention of disease, cancer included. There are numerous studies now looking at how the inflammatory response induced by the immune system can be used to destroy cancer.
New ’emerging pathways’ for further research is beginning to include basic health issues that inflict vast number of people, being ‘inflammation’ and ‘altered energy metabolism’. Inflammation has been quoted as being ”the root cause of all disease’ yet it seems like it is being largely ignored and remaining unaddressed in most cases, instead of being recognized and treated naturally.
‘Altered energy metabolism’ is becoming more evident as a catalyst in disease manifestation, especially with cancer and other chronic health conditions on the rise, with many sufferers being left in limbo with the medical profession scratching their heads wondering how to treat this phenomenon.
It was the winner of a Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1931, was Dr.Otto Warburg, who actually discovered that cancer cells were low in oxygen due to a change in cellular respiration, converting from using oxygen to instead using fermentation. In Dr. Warburg’s own words:
“Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar.”
Inflammation appears to be a growing systemic issue, which left untreated can potentially morph into other more serious diseases such as cancer, or is it ‘altered energy metabolism’ which manifests first, or are both processes inter-related?? Perhaps a potential research project in the future for some budding scientist!!??
It is just pleasing to hear that research appears to now to be looking at the ‘starting point‘ of disease rather than focusing on the ‘end stages‘ of disease and working backwards. Perhaps we do need to go the full circle before we can get back to basics and once again entrust in what has been provided to us by mother nature, in its most natural form.
