According to researchers, the vast majority – a whopping 75-98 percent – of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of our ‘thought life‘. Research shows that as much as 87% to 95% of mental illness are a direct result of toxic thinking – proof that our thoughts affect us all physically, mentally and emotionally.

As Neuroscientist Dr. Caroline Leaf most eloquently explains, ‘we are wired for love not fear’ so when we choose fear over love this causes a chemical imbalance in our brain because we only have ‘love chemicals’ to release. The fear response therefore, causes many more of these love chemicals to flood the body, of which it can’t dispose of quickly enough, therefore fear or derivatives of fear, can cause our mental health to suffer with cascading emotional and physical effects.

Dr. Leaf explains the ‘Science of Epigenetics’ as basically being the ability to think and choose, which we all do every minute of our lives, whether this choice is for our own good or detriment. We all have the ability to think, feel and choose, to make decisions, to choose either positive over negative and when we choose our chosen path the brain starts to build new branches.
